The Challenge: legacy software blocking growth
Axioma Metering has manufactured ultrasonic heat and water meters since 1992. Today, over 90% of their output is exported to more than 80 countries – a production scale that depends entirely on the reliability of the systems running the factory floor.
One of the most critical parts of that manufacturing infrastructure had become a liability. The software was old, the architecture undocumented, and the internal logic unclear even to the people responsible for it. Nobody could safely modify it – yet the business needed it to evolve. Every plan to expand production capacity hit the same wall.
The decision wasn't simple: leave the system as-is and accept a ceiling on growth, or modernize it and risk disrupting a live, high-volume production line. Axioma needed a software development partner with the technical depth to navigate both risks at once.
The Solution: legacy system modernization without downtime
Pro Sistemos joined Axioma Metering's team as an embedded engineering partner, extending their internal IT capacity with deep expertise in industrial software development and legacy system modernization.
Understanding before acting. The first step wasn't writing code – it was reverse-engineering the system's actual behavior. With minimal documentation available, our engineers mapped the logic through the software itself, building a reliable picture of what existed before touching anything.
Incremental modernization, zero production downtime. The critical manufacturing system was rewritten in stages using industry-standard protocols for communication with production hardware. Each phase was tested and validated before the next began. At no point did production stop.
Parallel development on the assembly line. Alongside the modernization work, Pro Sistemos simultaneously delivered new functionality for the assembly line software – keeping pace with Axioma's evolving operational requirements.
This wasn't a fixed-scope project with a handoff at the end. It's an ongoing technical partnership – we continue to maintain, support, and develop the systems as the factory grows.
“I’m pleased to recommend Pro Sistemos and its CEO, Rokas, as a strong and ambitious partner for .NET development. Pro Sistemos is a young and highly driven company that impressed us with its ability to quickly understand new business domains and translate them into working software. Their team onboarded to our VERY specifics remarkably fast, asked the right questions, and adapted their approach as our needs evolved. They are attentive to priorities, open to feedback, and flexible in both communication and delivery. Even in situations where they are still building up experience and refining certain best practices, their responsiveness, willingness to learn, and readiness to adjust course have consistently balanced this out and led to solid results. Rokas plays a key role in this. As CEO, he is hands-on, proactive, and clearly invested in building long‑term relationships rather than just closing a project. He listens carefully, acts quickly, and ensures that the team remains aligned with the client’s goals. I would recommend Pro Sistemos and Rokas to any organization looking for a motivated .NET development partner or staff augmentation, that can adapt quickly, grow with the client, and truly cares about delivering value."

The Result: from technical risk to operational confidence
Axioma Metering's engineering team can now work with their core manufacturing systems without the risk of breaking what's already running. New requirements can be implemented. Capacity can expand. The infrastructure that once blocked growth has become the foundation for it.
A factory producing over a million meters a year – exported to 80+ countries – now has the software backbone to match its ambitions.
